Avocados are known to be a super-food and for good reason – they are jam-packed with healthy fats and nutrients. They contain more potassium than bananas so they are great for muscle recovery. Along with their density in nutrients, they have been proven to help fight against cancer and even lower your cholesterol. My favorite ways to eat avocados are in smoothies, salads, or as good ole’ guacamole.
Now, some people aren’t so amped over the taste/texture of the avocado (weirdos). If you are one of those strange but still lovable human beings, I guarantee this smoothie will change your mind and make you love avocados!
Matcha is another favorite of mine for its abundance in antioxidant levels.
Matcha contains antioxidant levels:
- 6.2 times that of Goji Berries
- 7 times that of Dark Chocolate
- 17 times that of Wild Blueberries
- 60.5 times that of Spinach

Along with having endless benefits in the health department, it has caffeine for an extra boost before your workout. I also find it keeps me more alert than coffee. Coffee, though I enjoy a hot cuppa here or there, makes me feel jittery and kind of insane. Matcha keeps me steady and productive throughout the day.
MATCHA AVOCADO SMOOTHIE
1 cup of Almond Milk
1/2 an Avocado
1/2 a Frozen Banana
MRM Veggie Protein Elite – Vanilla
1-2 tsps of Matcha Green Tea Powder
1/2 cup of Water
Add all ingredients to blender and add more ice or water for desired smoothie texture. Personally, I like mine a little on the thick side so I don’t add too much water.
Protein: 30g (if you use SO Delicious + Protein Almond Milk)
